The Dark Chalet is an ultra-contemporary residence in Eden Utah. In 2017, Thomas Wiscombe Architecture and Acucraft worked together to design a massive, wood burning fireplace as the focal point for the chalet. The fireplace is embedded within the stairs and serves as the central core of the structure. Acucraft called on the expertise of ENERVEX to ensure that this one-of-a-kind fireplace always has a flawless fire.

The Challenge

• Provide a venting solution that would direct smoke up through the chimney flue and prevent smoke spillage
• Maintain a natural looking fire with minimal noise from the mechanical draft system
• Design a discreet system to maintain the aesthetics of the property

The Solution

• Two RSHT ENERVEX Chimney Fan were utilized on the two chimneys with a variable speed control on each fan to create a natural looking fire.
• One 18" steel chimney adapter was applied to one chimney flue.
• The mechanical draft system is exceptionally quiet and doesn’t generate any unwanted noise.
• Perfect draft in the chimney flue eliminates the need for glass doors.
• Our compact system is aesthetically pleasing.
• The ENERVEX solution consumes minimal energy.
