Muniz Residence
Saugus , MA

Eduardo Muniz, General Contractor for Boston Best Construction, came to Acucraft looking for a custom gas fireplace for his new single-family home being built in Saugus, MA just outside of Boston. Eduardo had chosen a wall on the center of the kitchen, living room and dining room where he wanted to feature a fireplace that was at least 7’ wide and 2’ high, fitting between two load bearing columns.

Eduardo chose to partner up with Acucraft to due to the company's expertise in custom built fireplaces. He really wanted to feature a peninsula style fireplace, but due to the structural support of the two load bearing walls it was decided to use a linear see through fireplace with a glass reveal.

Acucraft’s skilled Fireplace Designers and ENERVEX worked with Eduardo ensuring that both the design need for aesthetic and functionality were met, maintaining the support for the columns in the wall.

The final fireplace design included the following features & components:

  • Firebox Dimensions: 112 ¾” W x 51 1/16” D x 24” H
  • Viewing Area: 100 ¾” W x 20” H
  • 9” Tall Glass Panel
  • 95” Natural Gas Line of Fire Burner
  • 140,000 BTUs
  • 8” Combustion Air Intake
  • 12” Class A Flue System
  • Dark Blue Glass Media

The venting of the fireplace was controlled by an ENERVEX fireplace exhaust system that included these components:

  • RS12 Chimney Fan
  • ADC150 Modulating Fan & Damper Control
  • XTP Pressure Sensor
  • MFD Modulating Fireplace Damper
