Cleveland Clinic (Cole Eye Institute)
Cleveland , OH

The Cleveland Clinic is a multispecialty academic hospital located in Cleveland, OH that is owned and operated by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, an Ohio nonprofit corporation established in 1921. In addition to their flagship hospital in Cleveland, Cleveland Clinic also operates affiliated facilities in Florida, Nevada, Canada, and Abu Dhabi.

Cleveland Clinic is expanding world-wide. This project is a 135,000 sq.ft. outpatient center that houses facilities for clinical care, research and education. It is a three-story steel framed structure with a large fourth-story Penthouse level.

The Project:

  • Boiler system located in basement of building
  • Seven Scotch Marine boilers had to be vented
  • Boiler stacks went both vertical and horizontal while including a downward off-set
  • Boiler installations typically do not work with a downward off-set as part of the boiler stack design
  • Difficulties with local codes

The ENERVEX Solution:

  • Designed seven individual boiler stack systems
  • Each integrated a Chimney Automation System with an RSV Chimney Fan at the termination point
  • EBC 12 Modulating Draft Controllers to monitor and maintain proper boiler draft by modulating fan speed
  • Two RSIB Power Venters
