Design & Support Engineer I


Job Description

The role provides system design and engineering/technical support of ENERVEX systems to customers and sales representatives. Working with sales representatives, the candidate will utilize proprietary sizing software to design and quote the most suitable solution with our family of products; fans, controls, economizers, and other accessories. The candidate will provide technical and engineering support by investigating and resolving customer issues and inquiries. There will also be involvement in supporting New Product Development, Engineering Changes, and process updates.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide system selection and quotation to our sales representatives for ENERVEX systems utilizing our proprietary system selection software
  • Perform calculations for proper selection of our heat recovery systems, generate ROI calculations, and support off/on-site as required.
  • Provide technical assistance to all customers and sales representatives (Domestic and International) in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide on-site technical support visits as needed. Perform Factory Commissionings of ENERVEX Systems.
  • Support handling and evaluation of warranty claims.
  • Assist Engineering and R&D Team on special projects and NPD activities.
  • Support Engineering Change Requests for product/process improvement.
  • Assist in training of key personnel and participate in Technical Service Seminars.
  • Design, Build, and Test custom electrical panels Investigate and resolve product performance problems and warranty issues.
  • Prepare and distribute wiring and connections diagrams to internal and external customers using DraftSight or equivalent software.

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or 5 years related experience and/or training
  • Valid US Passport
  • Travel may be required up to 25% of the time

KEY SKILLS

  • Prior experience with one or more of the following equipment is beneficial
    • Ventilation equipment
    • Boilers and/or Water Heaters
    • Heat Exchangers
    • Electric Motors
    • Variable Frequency Drives
    • Electromechanical Devices, i.e. actuators, relays, solenoids, transformers, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Broad engineering technical skills and detailed skills in electrical and electronics technology.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, ladder logic, and/or function diagrams
  • Excellent communication both up and down
  • Exercise sound decision making
  • Desire to perform at the highest level of competence and expedience
  • Ability to hold yourself accountable for assigned tasks and see them to completion
  • PC literate using Microsoft Office
  • 2D AutoCAD/DraftSight experience a plus
