Application & Design Engineer
Job Description
For our fast growing team, we are looking for an Application & Design Engineer to provide the necessary stack design and quotes to our customers and sales representatives. The support includes system layout and design, sizing, quotations, and SolidWorks/AutoCAD drawings. You will also provide expertise about mechanical codes and design practices.
Responsibilities
- Work with customers and engineers in layout and design proper chimney exhaust systems for commercial boilers, water heaters, emergency generators, pizza ovens, restaurant kitchen hoods, tunnel ovens etc.
- Provide stack drawings according to specifications and job-site drawings
- Use SolidWorks and proprietary software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects
- Provide detailed and accurate quotes based on stack drawings
- Keep up with industry and engineering standards
- Collaborate with team members in pursuit of the company’s goals and objectives
- Provide job specific Solidworks or AutoCAD drawings when necessary.
- Perform technical training to users and sales representatives covering design, installation, operation and maintenance.
- Occasionally travel to job sites for measurement, technical assistance and troubleshooting.
Skills & Experience
- BSME or similar.
- 2-5 years directly related work experience required. MAY accept advanced degree/education as equivalent working experience with duct-work, chimneys, and exhaust systems in general.
- Proficient in Solidworks or other CAD software.
- Knowledge of UL, CSA, NFPA standards a plus.
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Willing to travel up to 20% of the time.
